Kids ask the Best questions. On my vacation day, off from Delta College I took The Dr.Slime Science program to Mackinaw High School for the Last Days of the Jumping Jitter Bugs Summer Program.

We had a great time Doing Science! I Always love the questions and perspectives of the Students because they see things from a fresh and different angle. I've filed away several of the idea's to see if I can use them to develop new Experiments for the Kids based on the questions they've given me.

Connections in Biology & Chemistry.

The Class is nearly full with area students who will be hiking and running actual hands-on activities studying the Biology, Chemistry and Ecosystem that makes up the Delta College environment.

This 3 day intensive course is designed to help students think critically and on their Feet about real-life, real-world science, across all disciplinary bounds, giving them the tools to think beyond one-topic taught exclusively, and look for the hidden connections take bring all elements into play in real-life situations.

DoctorSlime Visits Chippewa Academy Students Mt. P

The Chippewa Academy Students were treated to a cool Surprise.

DoctorSlime Came to their school, with some Icy cool Experiments some of the activities were....

Chill'n with Dry Ice -110 Degrees below Zero on a near 100 degree day means at least 200 degrees of chill fun. If that wasn't cool enough they then moved cooler to -321 Degrees below zero with Liquid nitrogen bringing the chillin fun down over 421 degrees a new record for chilling with science for DoctorSlime.

Of course there was liquid nitrogen frozen ice cream, made instantly to the flavors selected by the students, and water rockets were launched outside as another high flying activity.

By 5 pm Doctorslime was hot, slimey, and ready to chill out for another day of Fun.

This has been a wonderful start to 2011, So far I've had 3 shows in quick succession.

Zaul Library had me come by for their Science Fair kick off program on 1/22/11.

Next

Midland was honored as one of the 100 Best Cities for kids, and I presented at the Midland Mall on 1/29/11.

Finally

I was booked at the awesome Temple Theater, I remember my first visit when I was a child sitting in those huge seats staring up at the Ornate ceiling waiting for GM to bring in Santa Claus, for the children of GM workers. The organ came up out of the pit playing Christmas songs, and I was hooked on stage work for life. When I got the offer to appear there I was excited, fearful, and intimidated. Moving from the seats to the stage in a venue that looks as new and fresh as it did back in the early 60's to me.

Well 1,200 cheering fans later it was a hit, and now I'm working on bigger and better demo's that will reach out towards the audience, I was thinking of maybe doing a Science Implosion, the opposite of an explosion. Like I did for the people of the Discovery Channel on the Show Time Warp Season 2 episode 213.

That would be impressive..I should dig out a photo or two, if you have any photos of Doctorslime please send them along!

Hmmm lots to do today, even more to think about and plan.

Delta College Possible Dream Program & DoctorSlime

5-19-10 Today was a great Day for Science! (Quote by Ron Sharp)

DoctorSlime came to the Delta College Lecture Hall, and gave a brief motivational
talk on effort and potential to the new inductees of the Possible Dream Program.

This elite group of kids, were choosen because they have the Spark and Sparkle to
make Bay, Midland, and Saginaw Counties a better place to live. These students have a long road of hard work and commitment a hard of them. These 6th graders have to Promise to stay in school, and graduate. If they do Delta College will offer them programs and opportunities along the way, to make their road interesting, exciting, and challenging.

Doctor Slime threw down the gauntlet, and challenged them not to blow smoke his way as
he tossed giant rings of smoke over the crowd. He held aloft two seeds one giant the other small, and asked the kids, if they could tell which seed would grow the biggest tree? The giant seed pod, or the tiny seed pod?

Explained that they were at a crossroad of opportunity, which their efforts would determine their potentials (how far they could go in life) and like the seeds size shape or color told nothing about the final outcome. Only Effort focus and direction did! He explained that time, was like a metaphor for water, as he poured water from one cup to another, and without a plan it could simply slip away from us, as he made the water disappear. He even shared the trick with us!

He showed the kids several neat chemical demonstrations in which he manipulated atoms and molecule to do his bidding, and explained that it was our turn to do the same thing with our lives. We could make a huge mess, like his Elephants tooth paste, which foamed all over the place with no apparent direction or control, we could build something fine, and ordered like his complex DNA Model.

We could expand with no focus or control and release a lot of energy like his Hydrogen
balloon in a ball of orange flames, or we could add alchemy, to the energy, and like a chef produce something extraordinary like the power and control found in one drop of space shuttle fuel.

We counted down 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

BOOM!

One Drop of space shuttle fuel, plain old water, changed split and modified by
the alchemy that is chemistry can lift Men and Women Off the Earth to the Stars above.

He Challenged us to do the same! To seize the opportunity presented, apply the alchemy of education and learning and lift ourselves higher than we've ever Dreamed Possible.

That is The Possible Dream!

Flat Stanley Visits DoctorSlime!

You may ask yourself, who or what is Flat Stanley, well if you have a small child living in your home ask them. Most Young children know and love Flat Stanely, he has his own books, and animated TV show I'm told. Simply put Flat Stanely is a 2 dimensional character, who visits far away and interesting places. Recently Flat Stanley Came to visit with Dr.Slime.

Why? I don't really know you'd have to ask the Creator of this particular version of Flat Stanely. In Early October a non-descript plain manila envelope arrived at DoctorSlime's Headquarters. That's Delta College located at 1961 Delta Rd. University Center Michigan 48710. Delta College is a Community College with over 10,000 students from Bay City, Saginaw, and Midland. I like to think of Delta College as the best place ever located in the middle of a Corn Field. Thats how Delta Began, but that is another story. Back to Flat Stanley... I opened the Letter and out pops this Cute little Guy, with a red Shirt, orange tie, red hair, and brown pants. Inside with Stanley is a letter.

Dear Michael ( that's doctorslimes real name)

Our First and second grade class recently read the book Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown.
(see he does have his own book, told you!) In the story, the main character, Flat Stanley, was Flattered by a falling Bulletin board ( oh Dear!). Although he wasn't hurt, he became flattened. When he wanted to go to California to visit some friends his family folded him up, put him in an envelope and mailed him to California. (Man I wish I could do that, Palm springs sounds nice!) What a way to travel.

To help our class learn about our world in a new way, I'm Mailing Flat Stanley to you. I hope you will be a gracious host and show Flat Stanley around your town or city during his time with you. Please write about the places Flat Stanley visited and things you did together. Send the letter, with Flat Stanley Back with any pictures post cards, etc you may have collected back to my class in a few weeks. My Class, teacher and I can't wait to hear about Flat Stanley's "adventures" with you!

Well with such a nice letter from Dylan, and Flat Stanley staring at me what was I to do?

So, I took Flat Stanley with me where ever I went! He got a tour of the Delta College Chemistry Department. http://www3.delta.edu/slime/tour.html This is the place where Flat Stanley Arrived and where I work. Its a very nice place the pictures in the tour show the building just as it was being completed. As I was moving in...Flat Stanley since he was to work with me in the chemistry Dept. He had to have special safety equipment added. So I made a pair or rubber gloves, for him which he keeps tucked in his belt when he's not using them, a pair of safety goggles to keep his eyes safe when we work together with chemicals, and a graduated cylinder which he uses to measure out chemicals for me. He's really good at measuring out tiny amounts like less than 5 ml to 50 uL, those small sizes are hard for me. SO.. for the first couple of weeks I taught him all about chemistry, because that's what I do at Delta College and Saginaw Valley State University. At Delta College I'm the Laboratory Manager and we mixed up chemicals to get ready for all the student Lab's at Delta. At Saginaw Valley State Unviversity, where I teach night school to college students Flat Stanley sat in on my class and learned Chemistry 101.

Whenever I went somewhere Flat Stanley Came with me, he got to meet some very weird and interesting people.

DoctorSlime had a wonderful opportunity to meet a great group of Michiganders, the Shepard Motor Cycle Club... Most on Harleys I noted, came to visit Shields on a road trip, we had lunch at The Old Time Road House on M-46 Gratiot Rd. in Thomas Township. The day was beautiful the roads were smooth the food was good but a little slow, due to the size of our group, even if they did call a head. I would be pleased to call any of these bikers my friends. They are traveling the state trying to find a long list (Scavenger hunt) of very strange items and sights, it appears a green haired mad scientist was just one of many things they were looking for, if you see them in your neck of the woods, wave, and smile. They are the good guys, even if they wear black leather, I think its to stay warm, in the 55-60 mph wind they are always in. After being invited to lunch, I waved bye and watched them roar off, in the warm Michigan Sunshine!

Mike Garlick aka Dr. Slime Guest Appearance

Make Garlick a local science educator and familiar face at the annual Sci-fest Presentations was asked in early May to be a guest host on Time Warp a program on the Discovery Channel. He flew to Boston and within two hours he was filming the show on how a container can be crushed by the force of air on a vacuum. Time Warp features MIT scientist and teacher Jeff Lieberman along with Zoz Brooks of MIT, who use new high speed photographic technologies to bring truly never before seen wonders into a form that you can view.

Initially Mike ran through the standard collapsing of a soda can experiment, which you can do at home. This is achieved when the pressure outside is greater than the pressure inside, and the pressure difference is greater than the can is able to withstand.

The next demonstration was to crush a 55 gallon drum which raised the danger level to moderate. For this a steam-flo generator was used to charge the barrel with steam. The pressure in the barrel started to fall toward zero, and the barrel imploded. The air pressure crushed that barrel so fast, that under the high speed Camera’s 5-20K frames per second, the barrel disappears as Super chilled water, was poured slowly on to the barrel and WHAM!!!

The ultimate experiment involved the implosion of a 4700 gallon stainless steel dairy tank. The tank was charged with 230o steam, and then the inflow was cut off to allow the pressure to drop to near atmospheric, and then the second valve was closed. The tank was then cooled using a Boston Fire Department Blitz Gun, using a chilled fire hose packed in ice, dry ice and salt. The tank groaned and then folded up.

The show is on Wednesday nights on the Discovery Channel at 8 pm. The collapsing containers show featuring Mike Garlick is expected to air sometime in the next four to six weeks.

Frozen in Michigan!!!

My wife Betty is so cool!

Brrrrr its cold. Infact so cold our hot water pipe to our kitchen sink froze during the day, Wed 2/04/09 After we left for school. Betty called me after she got home at 2:30 pm and noticed that the kitchen hot water was frozen, I had only used it at 7 am that morning. (Drat Another home repair)

She told me all about it, and I bought a torch on the way home to thaw it out.
( I know, I can hear Ex-Fire Chief Jerry wincing right now as he reads this, about using a propane torch).

When I got home it was still frozen, but Betty had opened up the sink,
pulled my access panel, and had duct taped a blow dryer, so it blew warm air down on the pipes, neat idea but the pipes were still frozen at 6:30pm. (Not a single drip)

I asked Betty how long before dinner and looked for my cold winter gear, she told me just
a few minutes and I had better sit down and eat first. So I sat down to a great supper,
listening to that blow dryer running the whole time.

After supper I started to get ready (Dreading my upcoming task fully),

and Betty said “hold on, let me check and see if it worked... “

To be honest I had no hope for her method, she turned the tap and it dripped. (once)

Hey it dripped, so I came over in my snowmobile suit and propane torch and looked... (twice?)

It dripped five more times, Well it could be just cold water from the cold water side,
So I shut off the cold side...(tight)

It still trickled... All eyes were glued to the faucet, as the trickle grew , and grew and then gushed.

Woo Hoo! Yeah! Cool! You rock mom! Awesome!

If you were driving down Victor Drive, you could have heard a collective cheer as the whole family
high fived Betty. I said, “ God you are the Coolest woman alive!, You made dinner and
fixed a frozen pipe! ” Betty beamed, and I never had to dig out, the access port on the side
of our house buried in a 36 inch snowdrift, crawl under our house with its 14 inch crawl space,
and wield a propane torch.

I gladly cleaned off the table, put away the dishes, and gave my wife the foot massage she
so richly deserved. As I rubbed her feet, I thought ..”Some days I know, I’m the luckiest man in
Thomas Township, today was one of those days.”

There is no moral to this story, except: The lord helps those who help themselves...

Clinton County Waste Reduction Seminar

Yesterday was Great!

9/17/2008 I drove down to south Lansing area to visit the Hill Center, Maples Conference area to take part in a waste reduction seminar. I got to sit in on the other sessions, and learned a lot
about the facilities part of waste reduction at Educational institutions.

My Part, "How to Create a lesson while Reducing Hazardous Waste!!!" I must say was one of the better attended sessions, and it had double the number of expected attendees, I was expecting maybe 4-10, with 10 being a high number, and I had up to 18 people in my room at anyone time.

Wonderful Teachers, who actually got excited by the concepts, and methods I shared with them.
Reaching students is tough work, but getting a teacher excited is even harder. I feel as If I did a great job, many of them expressed interest, and were committed to getting this to work for them at their schools.

Back to School Traffic jam!

Well today was a First!

An Actual Traffic Jam for a 1.5 miles on Mackinaw rd, on the way to School at 7:50 am,
It didn't have to happen but most people didn't realize the main Entrance Opened last Night.
I sure hope they figure it out by tomorrow!!

We are Open and Back in Business for the Fall Semester at Delta College Now!
My Daughter Chelsae started, as an incoming Freshman today.

Busy getting things up and Running at Delta, SVSU has been back for a week already.

Getting Ready for Fall

Looks Like Back to school time is just around the corner.

My daughter will be starting out a Delta College This Fall! Yeah!
and I'm so busy I don't know which way to jump right now. The only
problem with being your own boss, is there is nobody else to do your
job while you are gone.

This Summer I went to CSU Fort Collins to work on creating Original new Idea's
for chemistry instruction, man let me tell you that is hard work... I came home only
to fix all the things that needed catching up on at work, and immediately took off on a family
vacation to Mammoth Cave Ky.

Side Trip to Newport Aquarium ( Pictures to follow)

Now finally I'm really back to work, working on ordering, prep and scheduling this week.

Outside of work: I'm getting geared up for the Detroit State Fair, coming up the next two weekends of August.

Hey I'm back from Santa Cruiz, Ca.

I got a big dose of exciting Chemistry, and a wee bit of Fun!

Here I am posing on a custom Stretch bike on the Capitola by the Sea Beach... Couple guys cruised by and I noticed
some chrome springs from my Youth..." Say those aren't Springs from a Schwinn Cotton Picker are they...Turned out they were...Schwinn Springs from the 60's are prized pieces for building customs bikes today. If I only had my bike from 8th grade... They were kind enough to let me
pose on one of their bikes! Another odd thing, do you know where cell towers come from?
Apparently cell phone trees!!! LOOK carefully That tree in the picture isn't really a tree its a
cell phone tower. In Cailfornia they don't need no stinkin Ugly Cell phone Towers, they get Cool trees...Wonder why we can't get trees in Michigan? Too many already, or not enough ugly towers yet? You decide!

Had a great time sharing Chemistry at Cabrillo College in Aptos, Ca.
Now its time to get back to Michigan, and back to work
at Delta College.

fuel, and ignited tiny micro-molar amounts, a Blast was had by all!!!

Chemistry Formula Error on Stamp!!! Sweet!

of Something Sweet .... Simple Sugar

Well namely glucose -1- phosphate the most simple
sugar, not Sucrose which most people think of as sugar. What's the difference? Well to keep it as simple as possible, Sugar is like a short train with a couple cars, an engine and a caboose. So the stuff we think of
as normal sugar ( Cane or Beet ) is actually two small sugars linked (bonded together) Glucose + Fructose =
Sucrose (Table Sugar, Cane or Beet). What Gerty discovered was the formula for the simplest sugar Glucose, and if you look at the structural drawing on the stamp above you'll see an almost correct structure for the molecule called Glucose. The error lies in the fact that an oxygen atom usually forms 2 bonds, and they have connected the wrong oxygen atom in the structure
in the picture above. The little line, which represents a chemical bond, connects to the second O in OPO3, which is the Phosphate Linkage, and it should have connected to the First O in OPO3.
The fun thing is its this functional Group, this Phosphate which allowed Gerty to isolate the so called Cori Ester, that won Gerty Cori the Noble Prize. This Phosphate chemistry is very important in anything that builds using Sugar Groups or backbones...This OPO3 is even seen with in our own DNA, as a key bonding structure. Some maybe some good will come from this error, and more people will look at and wonder about the marvelous Chemistry that makes up Sugar, and even us! ( Credit for this error discovery goes to an anonmyous reader of C&EN News, Chemical and Engineering News Jan. 29 2008 Issue.)

This Saturday Oct 27th, 2007 was Sci-Fest At
Delta College. We had hundreds dare I say
Thousands of eager Science students, all Hungry
for Science out Here at the college.

On a personal Note: My ELEPHANTS TOOTH PASTE SHOT UP TO OVER 12 FT!!!
A NEW PERSONAL RECORD!!! I was video'ed that day and I can't wait to
see the foot age!

I was also busy at The Children's Zoo of Saginaw, Michigan that very
same weekend, and several people I noticed followed me to both Events!!!

Reports about the Passing of Shakey Jake Woods, SHAKEN JAKE,

He Died on Sunday in his home, Sept. 15th 2007

Reached my ears to day via Public Radio. Shakey Jake, Jake, Guitarman, has Passed on in Ann Arbor Michigan. He was a common site in Saginaw, in the Sixities on a corner or in a Grocery Store parking lot on the south side of Saginaw. He'd Strum, He'd Dance, He'd Sing, He wasn't world class but his positive out look, and enthusiasm was infectious. When he disappeared from Saginaw, many rumors circulated. Later I heard he Landed in Ann Arbor. Lately I found myself wondering how he was doing, I got my answer today.

Shakey Jake Woods has passed on, and The world will be a little quieter, a little duller, a little plainer.

JAKE I'LL MISS YOU!

2nd Week of Classes @ Delta College

Things, are getting back to normal.

Its the second week of classes and my employees are shaping up
chemistry is starting to churn, out its interesting bits of labs.

Today...
David Baker & I began brain storming our Plans for Sci-fest at Delta.
What is Sci fest? Glad you asked... Sci-fest is the Coolest,
it's a fun science day for the community to come visit at Delta College
from 10:30 am till about 2 pm in the main Gym.

Oh hey you're right, that a when answer & not a what is Sci-Fest answer...

Okay let's see... Its a Cool Event that takes place in the Main Gym at Delta
College on Oct. 27th 2007 from 10:30 till 2 pm.

Glad to be back to work! (whew!)

I think I've had too much vacation, this summer.
Back to teaching at SVSU.
Back to my day Job Setting up Lab's At Delta College.

My kids are back in school, things might just be getting back
to normal. Had a big scare Last week, Grandma broke her neck.
Luckily, cracked is the operative word here, she's got a neck brace
for the next 12 weeks. My daughter has her real driver's License,
(WATCH -OUT!) She may be heading your way...No she's a good Driver
she just gets nervious sometimes...

My employee's are beginning the inventory Project.
My students are beginning the Introduction to Chemistry.
Me I'm working on a Heavy metal Chemistry Case study, in conjunct with CSmate
of Colorado State University and Dr. Steven Thompson ( my mentor).

Last weekend I finished up my commitment with the Michigan State Fair,
that was a ton of Fun! Got to meet all kinds of neat people, kids, doctors,
moms, dads, Governor's, etc. We had a great time doing Science Demonstrations,
liquid nitrogen Ice cream, Goblins Brew, The Disembodied Hand, Elephants tooth paste,
heck their were even real elephants there!

This looks to be a short week (Wed, Thursday, Friday) with no evening lab this week.
so I may just get caught up at home this week. My Wife had her birthday, with our family.
I had no idea what to get her! I guess that makes me a lout.

I brought her flowers on Wednesday, and have tried to be extra helpful all week, I know it needs to be all year... I'm working on it.

Well other duties call me.

Opened my email and found a challenge from my College President Today!

Develop a Way to easily remember the Values Statement of Delta College.

Just arrived back from a two week mission to Fort Collins, Colorado.

I've been working with small scale Chemistry, and Beginning a new Project
to develop methods to us a tablet PC to facilitate teaching Chemistry, using the
case study method.

I had a wonderful time, but its good to be back home!

Spent a relaxing Sunday Evening looking at the Stars! Did you see the Shower August 12th - 13th
My Wife and I saw 21 trails in the sky.

Sonia Haswell, assistant to Andrew Goodis, and subject of interest in a recent kidnapping investigation, has been reported missing. Detective Kinlan, when approached form comment had this to say, "No comment". Will this lead to another online game released by Deepfocus?
For Suzuki, Court TV, and Apple Bee's? Only Time will tell...speculation leads one to think that
if another puzzle is forth coming involving Sonia Haswell, Suzuki will be the lead product.

Motorcycle Prize? I know I'll be back for the Fun.

My Thanks to Deep Focus for a simple and entertaining game.
Not nerve wracking, or Nearly- impossible to solve like the Volvo one.
I would have liked to see the answers published, on your website.
Yes you told us Grant Did it... But a video of the police crashing Several
sites would have been nice, the clock running down... AKA 24, and
Our answers being relayed late due to a server crash to Detective Kinlan...
and a Last minute Save of Andrew... and Where was the joyful Reunion
as Andrew Dashes from the police car to his loving wife?

All and all Pretty good! Yes you can nudge the bar up a little,
but i understand the need to keep it lowered to allow everyone
a hand in it until; the last day...Then you should lift the bar a bit
higher!!! Make us work on the last day. Oh and make the last
day a weekend day!!! so I can spend more time on the puzzle if
I wish, finishing on a Monday? (yuck)

Hey and when the clock went to less than one minute???
What was up with that? If you do that end in prime time,

Was it worth it?

If you came here to Win 25,000 dollars, you should have read the rules.

The game appears to have been everything the sponsor wanted it to be,
attention getting, easy, rapid, and pablum for the masses. If you were looking for a super cool AGN, it couldn't be that and attract the masses.

It was good introduction to online games, a great example of viral marketing, a better example of bait and switch, (dangle 25K) and hand out
a few coupons...Best you can hope for is a buy one get one meal or a low value gift card.

I think, Deep Focus made errors switching back the finger print is the most glaring, switching it in the first place was genius. Because it caught all the
people who peeked in a catch 22 leaving them doubting. Which is exactly
where you should be if you trust data gleaned before its proper time in game.

I think they have every right to post false hints tips and fake clues for those crawling the web, to find even before the game started. Why?
Promotion, Promotion, promotion. This forum was up and running before the game even started, selling their product!!! How's that for free advertising.

Their only real goof, was dropping the curtain so their personal information got out, and I wonder if that wasn't done for its own secret purposes as well, if you want to talk directly and survey the actual players who are really digging, why not let them find you. That way you can ask them seemingly innocent questions without bias, from a random sample of high
end players. allowing you to understand the techniques they use frequently to crack your game.

If your listening, I ate at Applebee's last night. I wouldn't mind a gift card,
or a special pin saying Applebee's Detective (how about a lifetime 5%
discount!!! or free soda with every visit for Applebee's Detectives!!!) TM

Okay now things are heating up. Three new video's
Finger print on a murder weapon.
Finger print data base.

Looks like no support from Christina, Max or Det.Kinlan
Your on your own.

My thoughts...
data base is of poor quality and very hard to read, even blown up printed screen shots
prints do not compare well with Det Kinlan's This descriminates against those with poor
vision, all prints should be of same quality.

Frank Calouci whose's in jail should have had his print provided by det kinlan, but since
he was in jail that eliminates him from the murder, but not necessarily the kidnapping.

Yes there are three kidnappers at least two are dead? Who are they? where are their Finger prints? Are they employees or former employees of Akarmcorp? Were they the neighbors
the con man who lives between Sonia Haswell and Bea Rosy. What about the Death Threats
we never got to see them, did they have finger prints.. if so whose (franks?)
What about the Tampered video of Grant... Do we get to see it, or was it simply a stick or automatic tape change over?

If the Tapes were tampered with why not the finger print data base as well?

Why only 25% of the 117 employees in the data base why not all 117?
Why only 75% of the employees in the data base display finger prints?
Why are the other 25% suppressed or missing ( Is this tampering )
Can the finger print data base be trusted?

Pretty easy, not much thought.
Review three video tapes and look for something odd.
Did you spot it? The tape jumps, what was erased
from the security tape. Sonia Hasswell was fired.
Det. Roger Kinlan still hasn't forked over the
death threats? He seems to be dragging his feet.

Max has hacked the tape archive, and Max &
Christina have been pulling up tapes for hours.
( They appear to be fully cleared now.)

Sonia Hasswell being fired seems to point towards
innocence, as well as her help with the password.

Maybe I should try her other email address, since
she's been fired maybe she has more to say....

Frank Calouci In Jail and no comment?
He had motive, but his motives point toward
the company as well as Andrew?

Grant Tenbrook? Motive yes, Opportunity, and now missing Video footage?

There is another problem with the video footage,
file folders appear and disappear and are moved,
outside of the time Max & CHristina claim there is no
action??? Why, what was the paper under the glass
paper weight, where did the paper weight go.

What were Frank, Sonia and Grant all doing in Andrew's

I did. I also read and reread Sonia Hasswell's Blogspot Blog. She has issues. She actively seeks
out men who she can't have (married) (fear of commitment), Rejects men who are good for Her, and want her to settle down (dentist) Actively meets a lot of weirdoh's (Fish guy), and runs a lot of risks. Did she hit on Andrew? Does she know his secret Cell Phone Number, will Detective Kilan turn up evidence that she has been calling Andrew on his secret Line? Or is this a Red Herring to Frame Sonia Hasswell, Email can be faked phone logs dating Prior to the kidnapping would be strong evidence of an extra martial affair. See Feb 14th is Sonia Jealious? Does she want Andrew's attentions?

Let's talk about that site we found.

Andrew made that site for a reason - there has to be some important information there, otherwise he wouldn't have made it so hard to get into! My password is artichokedip, but there's another puzzle after that that I'm still trying to figure out.

Like I said in the video, it seems like the obvious answer would be Applebee's but it doesn't fit - there are too many letters, even if I ignore the apostrophe. I know there must be a clue we're missing that would help figure it out. Please, do your best - I'm counting on you!

Well Day 3 Reveals a secret website

Christina gives us the time max was born as 9:03 am which allows us
to crack the first password into the site.

Keep important passwords in your notes , two reasons
moderators can track progress, and you can get back into
multiple level encoded websites, without reinventing the passwords.

Its supposed to get harder, with each puzzle.
Ufictions prereleased clues are worthless,
as the game designers are making changes on the fly (* here! Here!)

Allowing the game to stay fun and interesting.
I'll not post spoilers, beyond the day in question.

Day 2 Tuesday June 5th 2007

New Video, new Facts, and Mystery Man!
Christine presents some new fact based clues you have to decode.
You Meet Grant Tenbrook, Sonia Haswell, and Detective Roger
Kinlan. A mystery man shouts a few things and runs off.
The police fail to snag the guy...I find that hard to believe, I'd
have nailed him for questioning ASAP, and at least detained him
long enough to get ID and a statement out of him. He knows something,
and if he doesn't he still needs to be questioned, and eliminated.

Sonia Haswell, who worked closely with andrew is cut off from saying anything
by the man, and in the confusion makes no real statement. Deliberate attempt
to silence her? She needs to be questioned.

Why was Andrew 3 miles from home on the day he was kidnapped?

Why does Andrew shake his head No, no, no when The kidnapper demands payment
in the video? Doesn't the kidnapped review his own video, or is he too stupid?
If he's that stupid, who's calling the shots? If you see a lady video taping her dog, do you
go on with your kidnapping, or do you wait for a better opportunity. Or do you want
publicity! Was this Staged! If so Why?

P.S. Hey the actors are doing a fine job, I feel genuinely sorry for Christine, but she could shed a tear. Grant Tenbrook I don't like (good job!), and your appeal to Andrew has the right ring of being disingenuine to it to make you seem a shade guilty(good job) Sonia too soon to tell about your characters potential, Max I know your a kid, but the spelling is weird and I'd think you'd show a bit more emotion, maybe even start to run after that strange guy. Det Roger hmm you could stand to be a bit more forceful, you had the professional bit down well though.

Neat Concept, simple puzzle, sorry no spoilers here, there are plenty of other sites that have
the whole puzzle neatly wrapped up. I'll just plod thru one puzzle at a time, and enjoy myself.
If you get stuck, yes you can email me. But you'll have to find me. On the web, My email and even phone number are there if you look hard enough.

The first puzzle is easy, do it yourself. You feel better in the morning honest.
You have to complete each puzzle as well as be registered on the site to compete for the
25,000 prize, which will be split among all the winners, so I expect to win my 2 cents worth.
The fun is not in the Prize its in the Challenge!!!

P.S. I must say, the video's and clues so far are all well done my hats off to the Admin of this 8 day challenge on the court TV website. Stay away from the cheat sites they are loaded with spoilers, which wreck the sense of discovery you get whe YOU DISCOVER the Kidnapper!

Puzzle's every where Volvo Xc90, Andrew Goodis, at worlds end!

There have been puzzles a pleanty this summer.

First Volvo brought back for a second time their Pirate treasure map.
Had fun with that one, didn't win... but it was fun. Still think a few minor
prizes would have been nice, though.

Now Save my husband .com as part of court TV is bring us a kidnapping,
the puzzle is very straight forward, and no where as difficult as the volvo one
but its fun and I appreciate a puzzle to solve over coffee, without wracking my
brain. It would be nice if it was not a big prize and it wound up being split a 1000
ways. Hey 25 bucks is better than the jammed server problem volvo had, with
their puzzles.
