Change is Upon Us, Transit of Venus
June is for Change.
As Venus passed in front of the Sun (transit of Venus) Change is upon us!
How will you handle change? Will you grow strong in the face of adversity
or will you weaken or crumble? I hope I grow strong... I have a lot of changes
going on all around me, more than I've ever had in my life. I've been working
hard on taking the hard positive upward path. Have you?
I've thought a lot about the changes swirling around me...Here's a picture I took of Venus as
it passed by the Sun, not to be seen doing so for another 105 years.
Venus is the black dot above the line, the line is a powerline the sun passed in front of as it set, the blue ring is a reflection of my digital camera in the eye piece of my 6 inch refractometer telescope,
I built from scratch, thanks to an Astronomy Class taught by Kevin Dehne at Delta College. I've seen many cool things with my homemade telescope. The sun is severely filtered here, with a homemade solar filter, I can make out a few sunspots in this image. Change is upon us.
How you choose to handle it is up to you.
Well the Hud Project is complete the foreclosed family has been returned to their home,
and as I look around its time for a new project. May had me start leadership training to help
me be all I can be, and make a positive Difference for the Delta College Difference.
On the horizon I have Science Summer camp.... (If it fills.)
I have a mystery job related meeting at work with a big Boss... (dramatic pause here.)
I'll post more when I get clued in.
Oh here's my new email address if you need to get a hold of me.

The following week I'm taking a day off to Go do a Science Show for the Chippewa Summer Student program, (Now that's something fun to look forward to.)

New Year New Shows
Well with the start of 2012 I rolled out a few new show idea's and am working on a few more.
Completed a series of shows in Jan, Feb, and March. With my last show for a cub scout Blue & Gold Banquet in Hemlock Michigan.
Life has been interesting, Took a tumble on the Last patch of ice in Bay county a couple of weeks ago and only now am I beginning to feel like my old self again, Thank God Nothing was broken, just my pride was bruised a little. I got my first pair of glasses ever in my life this week and my I didn't notice what I was missing. Seems DoctorSlime is near sighted, and all those little details in the distance were getting past me, so If I didn't wave when you thought you had my attention, sorry I might not have noticed you. Spring Break at Delta College is over and I'm back hard at work at my Day Job as Laboratory Chemist, making sure all the Chemistry Classes at Delta College run smoothly.
In my personal life, things are just fine. I've been helping out with a family who had their house foreclosed on, and the organization I'm working with is buying back their home from HUD. Ernest Estates LLC, is working to put the family back in their home, in an affordable fashion.
Right now I'm looking for a plumber and a roofer to help us get them back in with an affordable home, so if you know of a reasonable Plumber or roofer who can help me out give me a Jingle.
989-280-6306 ask for Mike.
Know of anyone who wants to buy an affordable home, in a good location, with access to St.Charles or Swan Valley Schools for their children contact me. A house has come on the market that's a great deal. I have it posted on craigslist. its Near the corner of Swan Creek road and Graham road about 5 minutes from Saginaw.

Community Science @ Mackinaw High School Summer Program
Kids ask the Best questions. On my vacation day, off from Delta College I took The Dr.Slime Science program to Mackinaw High School for the Last Days of the Jumping Jitter Bugs Summer Program.
We had a great time Doing Science! I Always love the questions and perspectives of the Students because they see things from a fresh and different angle. I've filed away several of the idea's to see if I can use them to develop new Experiments for the Kids based on the questions they've given me.
Showtime Wed. 11am -12:30 pm
Grade Level 1st - 6th
Keep Science alive and in your thoughts Everyday

DoctorSlime Visits Chippewa Academy Students Mt. P
July 20th 2011.
The Chippewa Academy Students were treated to a cool Surprise.
DoctorSlime Came to their school, with some Icy cool Experiments some of the activities were....
Chill'n with Dry Ice -110 Degrees below Zero on a near 100 degree day means at least 200 degrees of chill fun. If that wasn't cool enough they then moved cooler to -321 Degrees below zero with Liquid nitrogen bringing the chillin fun down over 421 degrees a new record for chilling with science for DoctorSlime.
Of course there was liquid nitrogen frozen ice cream, made instantly to the flavors selected by the students, and water rockets were launched outside as another high flying activity.
By 5 pm Doctorslime was hot, slimey, and ready to chill out for another day of Fun.
